Dear Dan,
An artist's live/work is available, a new dowtown project and Washington takes Trenton.
Artist Combo in Trenton
Work, Show and live in Mill Hill
Trenton Lofts has two units available that can be rented together to make a great working arrangement for an artist. A street level storefront has 3 rooms with 11 ft. ceilings and a restroom (600 SF) The front gallery space has a large window onto S. Broad St., an entrance in a vestibule with a grand door onto S. Broad.

Directly upstairs on the 2nd floor is a one bedroom apartment with 10 ft. ceilings, hardwood floors and 600 SF of space. Heat is included in both the apartment and gallery/work space.

The Commonwealth Building
New luxury lofts coming to downtown
The Commonwealth Building is one of the slickest buildings in downtown Trenton. A developer has bought it and is developing it. I've talked to him and he's definitely going after the upscale market (this is good). At this point, units will be around 1000 SF.

The developer's big decision is whether to make the units for sale or rental. My first inclination is "for sale" but I'd be interested to hear what Trenton Lofts subscribers have to say. E-mail me.

Patriot's Week
The Revolution comes back to Trenton
Every month I try to point to a marque Trenton event. There is perhaps no more important event in Trenton's history than the Battle of Trenton. For many year's the famous battle has been recreated in downtown Trenton but starting last year and continuing this year a week-long festival has been built around the event.

There really aren't any word to describe the breadth and depth of Patriot's week's line-up of events. Last year I had dinner with General Washington and Lord Howe. I listened in on tavern debate between Tories and Whigs. I listened to Thomas Paine read "The American Crisis". I watched The Patriot in a building almost as old as the revolution. However, I didn't have time for everything.

I strongly urge anyone with a sense of history to visit Trenton's Patriot Week. Patriot's Week happens between Christmas and New Year's.
