Dear Dan,

It's May and I guess I'm slacking off or there's not much news. On the other hand I've been pretty busy finishing my own renovations before Baby Alexander's arrival last week. A new Trentonian is born! Baby pictures are at

Wire Works is foiled

Bill Carlucci wrote to tell me the county has decide it has other plans for the corner of Hamilton and S. Clinton Ave. that make Bill's wonderful sounding project unfeasible.

I'm sure the county has all of our best interests at heart and in its infinite wisdom decided that the further development of the Hamilton -Greenwood section of Trenton was really just a bad idea. After all who would want to live 2 blocks away from the train station in a brand new loft style project?

Bill really didn't say much about the county's decision and I'm not going to ask him. I'll wait for Brian Hughes (our County Executive) to explain this to me. I'm sure there must be an explanation.

My friend Bea, at TDA ,tells me there are two nice apartments available on Front street in Mill Hill.
Women in Jazz

I promote Trenton2Nite pretty often. Tonight's event, Friday May 11, will be really special.

TDA has pulled together a great collection of performers who will play at the various downtown venues (The Marriott, Cafe Ole, Gallery 125, The Masonic Temple and even on the street). This is Trenton's monthly block party and has been going strong for 5 years.

Do youself a favor and catch Miche Braden at the Marriott. She performed at the Passage Theater benefit last month and is just awesome.

New Businesses Downtown
  Cigars & Spas
Civilization has come to downtown Trenton in the form of Cigar Nirvana. Trenton entrepreneur Kevin Wortham has opened a cigar parlor at 20 W. Lafeyette St. across from the hotel. Phone is 609 278 0714

I stopped by and spoke with Kevin today. He showed me around the place which is outfitted with lenty of leather sofas, big TVs and cigars. He's putting in members lockers for cigars and liquor (no liquor license).

Jim Carlucci (who pretty much knows everbody in town) reported that he stopped in and had good conversation with Trentonians he didn't know. Now that's something

Relaxation has come to downtown Trenton. Michelle, Alexander and I were looking in on our apartments on Peace St. today and it turns out that a Butterfly Essential Wellness Day Spahas opened across the street at 17 Peace St. Peace St. is perpendicular to the Marriott.

This got MIchelle's attention as they offer all sorts of pamper options and massages. She noted that they give Post Natal massages (I think that was a hint).

Anyhow, one of the masseues, Mama D, came out and handed us some fliers and coupons.

For years, Dwayne Martin (ex GM of the Marriott ) told us that a day spa would do great in Trenton. I hope it does. I know Michelle does, as its right around the corner from her hair salon. Convenient!

Phone is 267 357 0729.

Slow month
That's about it, nothing else to report.

Sat with Dan Brenna at the Passage Benefit and he says he has nothing to report this month.

Roland Pott didn't have any news.

HHG doesn't have an update from March

No report from Broad St Bank but I think June is the new move in date.

Nothing at all to report on Trenton Town Center. It's been really quiet on this front.
