June 2008 Trenton Lofts Newsletter
Real Estate, Arts & Politics
Dear Dan,
Sorry, I took May off. Here are a few updates on Trenton.

  • Mill Hill Garden Tour
  • Art All Night
  • Broad St. Bank Changes
  • HHG gets another lofty deal
Take the Mill Hill House Tour

Come see the back yards in Trenton's best neighborhood at the Mill Hill Garden Tour. Some of our neighbors have taken small yard gardening to a new level.

Once again, I suggest tours like this for people considering a move into Trenton.

The Garden tour is Saturday, June 6.

Everybody's welcome at Art All Night

Art All Night is one of the quirkiest art events I've ever been involved with (and I've been involved with a few). The event begins Saturday June 21 at 3pm and ends on Sunday June 22nd at 3pm. That's right, it goes 24 hours straight.

There are people, art and events schedule all night long. Admittedly the more family friendly programs are during the day. Hipsters and art junkies fill the night.

The basic premise for the event is that anyone can submit one piece of art to the show for free. The art is for sale and artists keep all the proceeds.

Perhaps most spectacularly, the event is being held in a large former Roebling factory (pictured above) that's being converted into a Science Museum. Personally I like the building better as loft space, but I don't own it.

Art All Night is produced by Artworks, an art school and studio in Trenton.

Changes at Broad St. Bank

It appears as though there been a bit of a revolving door for leasing agents at the Broad St. Bank. Richardson Commercial is out and TDA has brought the leasing function in-house.

If you've attempted to contact Richardson and didn't get a response all I can say is try again. An updated number and contact has been up on the Trenton Loft site for a month or so.

HHG Development gets a crack at Roebling
  Metamorphisis
Many months ago HHG's Michael Goldstien told me they were working on something really big. He wouldn't say and I didn't try to pull it out of him.

Turns out it is big, HHG is seeking to develop a portion of the Roebling Wire Rope manufacturing complex. Well, that's pretty lofty!

This project is at least a few years out. Meanwhile HHG's Trenton Ferry development continues to hum along.
