Developer Cornelius Crawford emailed to let
me know about his newly completed projects.
He's got a couple of row houses on N. Willow that he's converted into lofts. He's gutted the insides and opened up the units. You can see from the pictures that it's had a nice effect.
This approach to re-habbing row homes has
become popular and there are a few like this
in Mill Hill including my home. The idea is
that row houses don't need to be filled with
tiny little rooms suitable for a big family
if there's no big family living there.
117 and 119 N. Willow are a couple of blocks from the NJ Capitol building. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with this part of town. |

504 Woodland
Though not a loft, the sellers asked me to
list this home in Franklin Park. It looks
like a deal so I agreed.
Franklin Park is a nice part of town and for the money you can't go wrong. |

Often, when you think of the Junior League
you think of society ladies wearing their
pearls. I can say this because I'm married to
the President-Elect of the organization.
However, I can tell you it's not like that. The Junior League of Greater Princeton is a women's volunteer group that raises money for and does projects that help increase the literacy skills of young children and their families. Their main project is ROCKETS which takes science education into preschool classrooms. Of course, this takes money. Which is where Rhythm & Brews comes in.
Rhythm & Brews is a music festival the Junior
League is running in Mercer County Park
on May 23rd.
Since it is a Junior League event there will also be a bunch of kids activities including magic shows.

Look for the Reinvent Trenton strategic
plan Every politician running for office should either have their own 10 year plan or sign on to someone's. We don't have time to wait until 2010 to get working on this as some of the more important measures will take a great deal of time to get approved and implemented. We don't have that time.
Trenton will be bankrupt in 2012 unless we
take correct aggressive actions now.

Sunday May 3rd would have been our son
Alexander's 2nd birthday. Michelle and I
were comforted today by a grand gesture on
the part of the Mill Hill neighborhood, the
Mayor's office and City Council to rededicate
the Mill Hill Tot Lot in Alexander's name.
There were also three trees and flowers
planted in his
honor near the playground.
Our neighbor, Lucy Vandenberg, spearheaded the effort including getting the resolution written and passed as well as getting the sign made. Over 60 neighbors, friends and family attended the ceremony on a rainy Sunday morning. This is the kind of city Trenton is. It has some rough edges and needs some cleaning up, but Trenton has a big heart. All of the people who worked on this and who attended the event on Sunday know each other through their civic and social activities in Trenton. These are the ties that bind and make a city a community. |
